Get comfortable with the most commonly used power tools in our woodshop!

50 US dollars
507 East Shiawassee Street

Service Description

This is a skill-based class that will introduce you to the main and most commonly used power tools in a woodshop. We will learn what each tool is used for, different brands, and, most importantly, tips and tricks on how to use them safely. This is more of an informational class where students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about power tools as well as a chance to get comfortable using them in the shop. A lot of woodshop power tools can also be used for DIY projects and home repair. Example of tools we will cover in this class: Miter Saw Power Drill and Drill Press Circular Saw Joiner and Planer And my favorite, the Bandsaw! This class is wheelchair accessible. Sitting workbenches available upon request. Deaf and hard-of-hearing friendly. Interpreter available upon request. Ages 16+

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel your reservation, please do so as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds or move students to a different class time for scheduling conflicts . The number of people asking to move their reservations is simply too high that the school can not afford to accommodate this and still keep class fees affordable. We do occasionally have a waitlist for classes, if someone is able to take your place you can be refunded or moved to a different class. Feel free to ask but again this is not guaranteed. Alternatively if you can not make it to your scheduled class you can always find someone you know to take your place. If you would like to cancel your reservation, please email tinybitofwood@gmail.com with the subject line “Cancellation”. Thank you for understanding, Megan Shannon
