Pole Lathe Bowl
Service Description
This is an introductory class to green wood turing using an age old foot powered lathe called a pole lathe also known as a spring pool lathe. While this lathe needs to electricity and can be made from only lumber it lacks the power to be able to turn dry hard lumber. Turing green or fresh wood is much easier and far more relaxing. This will be an all day class with time for many breaks in between. Since this will be most peoples first time turning the bowls will be thicker then one you would see in a store. Green wood also needs to lose its moisture before being sanded and finished which can take a few weeks months. We will learn all about the processes in this class. All classes here a designed for beginners and everyone is welcome in this shop. I will be there to help with any step that a student might not feel comfortable completing. If any students need help with the class fee please reach out to tinybitofwood@gmail.com we do not want financial barriers to stop people attend classes here.

Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your reservation, please do so as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds or move students to a different class time for scheduling conflicts . The number of people asking to move their reservations is simply too high that the school can not afford to accommodate this and still keep class fees affordable. We do occasionally have a waitlist for classes, if someone is able to take your place you can be refunded or moved to a different class. Feel free to ask but again this is not guaranteed. Alternatively if you can not make it to your scheduled class you can always find someone you know to take your place. If you would like to cancel your reservation, please email tinybitofwood@gmail.com with the subject line “Cancellation”. Thank you for understanding, Megan Shannon
